  Creating Gracious Space

Gracious Space provides a framework for building a space of belonging that can allow for diverse groups of people to engage in deep listening and shared learning in times of complexity and change.  Creating belonging allows us to build trust and learn from one another when we engage in dialogue.

When we practice Gracious Space and ensure that we are mindful of how we bring people together, we are utilizing a process that centers equity and inclusion.  Developed by the Center for Ethical Leadership, Gracious Space is a spirit and a setting where we embrace diversity and learn in public.

Our Commitment to Gracious Space

At Roots of Inclusion, we are committed to ensuring that our workspaces center on Gracious Space. Building a Gracious Space is crucial for developing relationships that allow for the complicated work of social and systems change to succeed.

Through being mindful of the pillars of Gracious Space: Spirit, Setting, Embrace Diversity, and Learning in Public, we focus on creating spaces that allow conflict to be handled in a productive manner and build capacity for relationships to be maintained and strengthened.
