About Us.

At Roots of Inclusion we envision a society where every individual experiences unconditional belonging, their human dignity and unique contributions are valued, and they learn, live, and work in equitable, inclusive and accessible communities.

Our Mission.

Our mission is to amplify the voices of youth and their families to promote equity, inclusion, and belonging in schools and communities.  We leverage this foundation to build a more just, inclusive, and vibrant society.

Our Values.

We commit to model these values.

Equity, Inclusion, and Access
Anti-Oppression
Human Dignity
Racial Justice
Disability Justice
Collaboration
Integrity

We commit to bringing these values to every conversation and continue to promote a groundswell of inclusion, as we recognize that we cannot do this alone.

An Adaptive Community Leadership Approach

Understanding systems that impact people and that we are working to change or impact is a critical aspect of the work that we do at Roots of Inclusion.  Every system is perfectly aligned to produce its current outcomes.

Without taking time to develop an understanding of the people, relationships, rules and structures that are supporting the status quo, we cannot hope to create change that will move toward equity and inclusion.

People

The individuals in the system that affect how that system functions. Ensuring that all the people impacted are included in the change.

Relationships

The relationships that need to be in place to affect systems change.  Simply changing individuals in a system and leaving existing relationships at play will not impact change.

Rules & Structures

The rules and structures at work in a system, either explicit or implicit, that reinforce the status quo in the system must be understood and examined.

Roots of Inclusion has designed a process for stakeholder involvement by incorporating an
Adaptive Community Leadership approach to community conversations.

We are open to helping others learn how to host events and bring together voices to impact adaptive challenges that our community faces from education to employment.
