About.

The Founders of Roots of Inclusion believe that inclusion and respect for the values of each individual is the foundation of human interaction and relationships.

Established in 2018

Roots of Inclusion, officially established in 2018, has been a project of its founders for the past 10 years.  It began through advocacy specific for our children and then grew through a process of listening, learning, and understanding how systems impact all of us... children, families and organizations.  Roots of Inclusion creates a space, both personal and virtual to, through the use of community-engaged practices, address challenges and make systems more responsive to community needs.

Our Values

We will bring these values to every conversation and continue to promote a groundswell of inclusion, as we recognize that we cannot do this alone.  We will value and model:
  • Inclusion
  • Compassion
  • Empathy
  • Dignity
  • Equitable access and opportunity
  • Relationships – Gracious Space
  • Interactions that have a foundation of empathy, connection, human potential, and dignity
  • Authenticity in words and behaviors
  • Changing hearts and minds through experiences
  • Removing the burden from families and students by acknowledging that an inclusive system should shift versus a child having to shift to access inclusion, with the value of creating systems that are easy to navigate for families and students
  • Seeking out, embracing, and supporting the talents and contributions of each and every child in our education system

Taking an Adaptive Community Leadership Approach

Roots of Inclusion has designed a process for community outreach and involvement by incorporating anAdaptive Community Leadership approach to community conversations.

We help others learn how to host events and bring together voices to impact adaptive challenges that our community faces from education to employment.
